The Stagville Descendants Council is a platform to forge connections with distant relatives who share the same roots. By bridging the gap between generations of descendants, we create an environment of belonging, unity and support where stories are exchanged, bonds are formed, and families reconnected.

Preservations

Through the Stagville Descendants Council we aim to safeguard the rich history, culture, and memories that our ancestors left behind at Stagville Plantation. We work to ensure the physical and cultural conservation of Stagville's historic sites, cemeteries, stories, documents, and artifacts so that future generations can connect with their ancestral roots. By cherishing our ancestors’ struggles, triumphs, and contributions, we ensure their legacy lives on.

Historical Research Committee

The mission of the Historical Research Committee is to increase awareness and preserve the heritage of Stagville Plantation's enslaved community and their descendents through education, access to research tools, and community outreach.
