Meaghan Alston is the Assistant Curator for African American Collections for the Southern Historical Collection at UNC Chapel Hill’s Wilson Special Collection Library. In her role she is responsible for collecting, highlighting, and interpreting material documenting the African American experience in the US South. She is especially interested in improving the accessibility of the archive and primary sources for descendants of enslaved people. Meaghan has almost a decade of experience working with African American archives and special collections and has previously held positions at Howard University and the University of Pittsburgh.
